Saving as PDF
Merge the selected documents and pages into a single PDF and download it, with optional compression.
Save PDF merges everything you’ve included in the output into a single PDF file and saves it to your browser’s downloads folder.
What goes into the output
- Documents that are selected and not Disabled, in the order shown in Stacks.
- Each document’s pages that haven’t been removed, in the order shown in All Pages and with the rotation you gave them.
- Pages moved or copied between documents, inside the document they’re now in.
Before you save, the bar at the bottom shows a summary: how many documents and pages are selected, and the total size.
Saving
- Click Save PDF.
- In the window that opens, the Compress while saving switch is:
- On — you choose a compression level, see the pages before and after, and download with Compress & save. See PDF compression.
- Off — the pages are copied as they are; text and vectors stay intact.
- The file goes to the browser’s downloads folder.
Your original files are never touched; Deste always creates a new file.
The web version always downloads the selection as a single PDF. If you want to save documents separately, select only one at a time and save it, or save a single document with the compress icon on its card.
Images
PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, GIF and AVIF files become one PDF page each when you add them, and behave like any other page. For animated images, the first frame is used.
What’s preserved
Pages are copied together with their content: text stays selectable and searchable. Whether special PDF features such as form fields, digital signatures and bookmarks are preserved hasn’t been verified yet; if you need them, check the file you get.
